Alewife Wholefoods is a small, family-run business, curious by nature with a preference for doing things the old-fashioned way, using ancient handling techniques, to provide maximum health benefits & showcase the depth of ingredients available locally here in SouthWest, Western Australia. 


Through many hours spent in the heart of our home, the kitchen, daring friends/family who aren’t shy to sample and share their thoughts. 

Fascination for fermentation began once upon a time when Camille, ‘The Alewife’, was on a Wholefoods Chef course where jars were scattered around the room, mysteriously changing day by day producing delicious and full flavoured condiments from kombucha and kefir to dips, sauerkraut & cashew cheese.

Learning of the health benefits of fermented foods only fuelled the desire to turn our home kitchen into a laboratory, experimenting with a childlike curiosity transforming day to day kitchen activity into culinary alchemy.

We believe enzyme-rich lacto-fermented vegetables, fruits, beverages (such as kombucha) and condiments in your diet on a regular basis compliment a varied and ethically sourced wholefoods diet aiding us to live a wholesome life, inviting our bodies & mind to naturally harmonize.

We chose kombucha – healthy, wholefood & a soulful, social delight.
